David (Venzil) Peterson was born in Santa Rosa, California and was transplanted to Brooklyn, New York at the tender age of eight. He received his BFA in sculpture from SUNY Purchase College of Art. He is a recipient of a McDowell Artist Traveling Grant and The Nessa Cohen Grant, and his work has been shown in a number of group exhibitions, including the G.V.A.C. gallery in Greenpoint, Abc No Rio in the Lower East Side, Local Project Gallery in Long Island City, and Phillips de Pury in Chelsea. David's work strives to explore conceptual and physical parallels in an effort to suggest meaning between seemingly unrelated subjects. Visit www.davidpetersonsculpture.com to see more of his work.
